Shaping Lives Beyond the Classroom

At JMBC, campus life is carefully planned to do more than teach—it helps form your personality. Every part of life here, from classes to community, is designed to help you grow into a faithful and effective servant of God.

Growing in Spiritual life

Life at JMBC is shaped by daily spiritual disciplines that help students grow in their walk with God. Each day begins with quiet time in God’s Word, followed by chapel worship in the morning and evening. These daily rhythms help students grow in faith and walk closely with Christ.

Our classrooms aim not just for knowledge, but for hearts shaped by Christ.

LIFE AT JMBC

Life of Prayer

On the first Friday of each month, we set aside a special Day of Prayer to seek God together through His Word. Each week, during World Christian Prayers, we pray for different countries and people groups. Once a month, we also have Extended Prayer before midnight, helping us grow in dependence on God and reminding us that prayer is central to ministry.

Caregroups

At JMBC, every student belongs to a small group called a Caregroup, led by a faculty member designated as the Caregroup Parent. These groups meet once a week at the faculty home, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere.

Caregroups join in events and competitions that encourage teamwork and fun. We also have a well-structured mentoring program where students meet regularly with their Caregroup Parent for personal guidance and care.

Library

The Library Block is a two-storey facility with over 32,000 carefully selected books across various fields. New titles and academic journals are regularly added to support ongoing research and study. Each student has a personal study space. The library also offers high-speed Wi-Fi and a dedicated computer section to support digital learning and access to global resources.

Worship and Music

JMBC has a vibrant space for students who love music and want to use it for God. Students regularly lead worship in chapel and visit local churches to present songs as a team. We also produce recordings and share them on YouTube. Music classes are available for those who want to learn instruments or improve their skills.

Ministerial Training

MBC helps students grow as leaders for church and mission work. Every weekend, students go out in teams for ministry in different parts of Chennai. They also take part in summer internships, sometimes in cross-cultural areas. On campus, we have Sunday worship services in five languages: English, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Burmese. This helps students learn to serve people from many backgrounds.

Celebrating Life Together

JMBC is more than a place to study—it’s a community that celebrates life in all its colour and joy. Through events like Independence Day, Republic Day, and other cultural events, students come together to enjoy music, drama, games, and cultural expressions. The Social and Cultural Committee leads these vibrant gatherings, helping students experience the richness of India’s heritage while building strong bonds of friendship and fellowship across cultures.
